Jennifer Tilly's birth took place at Los Angeles, California on September 16th 1958. The birth circumstances were deplorable. Her father was a vehicle salesman, while her mother was a school teacher. Jennifer is the third of four kids in her family often accompanied her mother to performances in the theater and was very impressed with her. Jennifer's divorce occurred after she reached the age of five. Jennifer was a resident of British Columbia for most of her life when her mother and others moved there. Jennifer was not a scholar although as a kid she was very artistic. Her time at Canadian schools caused her to be frequently the victim of bullying. As she entered high school, her enthusiasm for theatre began to fade. To combat this, her mom helped to take part as an extra in various plays. The influence of her mother was to encourage all of the children in the family to develop a passion for and love for the arts. After that, she immediately began acting.
